My name is Siarhei Badalau. I am a long-time Citroën C5 owner and admirer of French automotive design.
C5Retrofit is my personal project dedicated to developing the timeless design of the C5 X7 through carefully designed vinyl-based retrofit packages.
Here you can explore two projects created on my own C5 Tourer: Evo Dua, a two-tone glass capsule concept, and Animus Evo, a protective all-road redesign kit for the C5 Tourer and CrossTourer.
Design as Composition
I am also a composer, and I see many similarities between creating music and creating automotive design.
In both cases, I search for proportion, rhythm, tension and the exact expression of an idea. I keep returning to the same material again and again — in my imagination, in sketches, in physical tests — until the whole structure begins to feel coherent.
This is how I created Animus Evo and Evo Dua: not as decorative additions, but as carefully composed design ideas for the Citroën C5 X7.
For me, a design is finished not when it becomes more noticeable, but when it finally expresses the idea accurately.
